The Other Brother A Standalone Dark Romance Snow and Ash Book 3 edition by Heather Knight Romance eBooks

WARNING This dark romance novel contains dark, mature situations and sensitive subject matter, and contains triggers some readers may find discomforting. It is a work of fiction and is intended for adult readers.
A political marriage to the young brother of the famous General Barry, a leader known for his ruthless brutality, is the last thing nineteen year-old Bianca Mason wants. But an alliance with these men will keep her father’s citizens safe from the endless Barry raids and be another step toward the return of modern civilization. Unfortunately, Bianca puts the entire treaty in jeopardy when she confesses a traumatic personal secret to her intended groom, and he refuses the marriage. Desperate to keep the peace, she gratefully accepts when another brother steps in to take his place.
Kent, the other Barry brother, is known for his strong leadership ability, fair treatment of his troops, and brilliant military strategy. He is also a known for his burn-scarred face and his reputation as a sadist. When confronted with the disintegration of a much-needed treaty, he grudgingly steps in and marries Bianca, a girl traumatized by long-ago assault who doesn’t like to be touched.
Kent must teach Bianca, as only he can, how to surrender herself fully, trust in him completely, and become the woman he needs. Only then can they both find happiness.
The Other Brother A Standalone Dark Romance Snow and Ash Book 3 edition by Heather Knight Romance eBooks
This review contains some spoilers! Man, Knight writes some seriously hard to love heroes. You will probably not want a Kent of your own. Bianca, the heroine, is an interesting departure from the normal, tough-as-nails heroine. She was the victim of a gang rape at fifteen and never completely recovers psychologically. I think this is probably much more realistic than the more commonly written heroine who suffers great trauma in her childhood with hardly any apparent sequelae. In addition, as you get to know more about Bianca you realize she has been submissive her entire life so she is really the perfect wife for the very dominant Kent. He helps her over her past trauma and gains her trust. She has never felt happier and then...bam, he betrays her trust. She then falls into some serious crazy and essentially disconnects from reality for a fairly long period of time only to be suicidal when she is more cognizant. I cried several times during this part of the story. It is also unusual for the heroine to seem so completely dependent upon the hero for her happiness and well-being. I was surprisingly ok with that. Bianca and Kent fit together well. Most women would not want to be so controlled and most men would not want the incredible burden of making all the decisions for someone. It would be a lot of work and require a great attention to detail to be the dominant in essentially a D/slave relationship. Kent is characterized as being sadistic by his bother but I do not agree with that. I am sure he could dish out pain if that is what his partner needs. He seems fairly in tune though and gives Bianca the safety of boundaries that she needs rather than pain. I think he needs to have that complete control more than he actually needs to deliver pain. He certainly does not seem to enjoy having Bianca cry. So although his lack of trust has some very bad consequences, he is not the one actually harming Bianca so I forgave him in the end just like she does.
Enjoyable and emotional journey. These Snow and Ash books are tough reads at times!

The Other Brother A Standalone Dark Romance Snow and Ash Book 3 edition by Heather Knight Romance eBooks Reviews
Shattered beyond belief and I am shaking, cannot put into words, I do not think my review will put justice to how much I devoured this but here goes. Bianca is such an amazing character, she is this story pure and simple, the trauma she suffered before being placed in an arranged marriage and then to go on and become this woman who can trust again – brilliant. This story surprised me, gripped me, made me shudder and have pure fear and terror for Bianca and then to follow her journey, even now I am still in disbelief. The way the author carried Bianca through different physical and mental scenes was beyond brilliant.
I have not read any of the other Fire and Ash books and it did not affect my understanding.
This book was so sensual and dominating, had amazing sexual scenes that were erotic but them had some really dark romantic and physically horrific scenes so you have been warned – I loved them as I love dark stuff that makes me shudder.
The ending was healing, Bianca finds peace in her life, the understanding of other characters and what she needed. I could not come to accept other characters and their actions to what happened to Bianca, I was glad we were given closure and answers – well expect for Tish?
Wonderful standalone dark erotic romantic tale – I would give more than 5 starts if I could.
Quote "He grabs a handful and tugs me where he wants me, and his lips suck, his teeth bite, and his tongue glides. My neck is his playground and I am his slave"
This was my first time reading anything by Heather Knight, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this this romance story. This story is a dark romance novel that contain mature situations and also has some sensitive subject matters that may be sensitive to some readers, and may make you feel uncomfortable .But even if it's a work of fiction this is intended for adults . This is Kent and Brianca romance story. Brianca is a woman that will touch your heart in different ways ,she will also break your heart with just how broken she really is. And just how alone she really feels. The one thing she didn't like was to be touched ,and so many took advantage of her , very chance they had. There just wasn't anyone she could trust. But when she tells her fiance about her secret ,he immediately rejects her. But then her ex-fiance's brother Kent just steps in to fulfill the promise of marriage ,and that Brianca as his wife. As I was reading this story I liked Kent he was kind and he seemed considerate ,but later on I couldn't stand him.Specially when he turned into a beast so you will think .Heather Knight has given us a story ,with twists and turns that you will not see coming .And Briana's character is such a survivor and I feel that on one in this story was right for her,she deserved so much more. I could tell you more ,about this story but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this story, you won't be disappointed.
When I was about 50% through, I was thinking that the story is very simple and straightforward and then bam! Kudos to the author because I did not see that coming, and the rest of the book was an edge-of-the-seat read for me, very dark and emotional. Loving this series and can't wait for more!
I have read a TON of books in my life...of all genres, from Indie authors to those experienced and well published... but I can't think of a single one that gutted me like this one. Truly gut wrenching... what Bianca endured through this book, the raw despair.... I will never forget this storyline. I warn fellow readers that this book is exceedingly DARK. Please, if you have triggers that take you to a bad place this book may not be for you.
